Als je hebt gekozen voor de 20 weken echo, zal je afspraak hiervoor binnenkort zijn. Hieronder volgt een checklist voor je afspraak, zodat je je goed kan voorbereiden en het onderzoek zo goed en soepel mogelijk kan verlopen.

- De afspraak voor de 19 weken echo is tussen 19+0 weken en 20+6 weken
- Zorg voor een volle blaas!
- Doe 's ochtends géén bodylotion of olie op je buik. Ook je navelpiercing moet uit.
- Er mag 1 volwassene mee, het liefst je partner. Er mogen géén kinderen mee.
- Duur van het onderzoek is maximaal 35 minuten.
- Je mag géén foto's of video's maken, je krijgt wel enkele geprinte foto's mee.
- Het kan zijn dat er een inwendige echo nodig is, om alles goed te kunnen beoordelen. Dit mag je natuurlijk weigeren, maar dan kan het zijn dat de echoscopist niet alles kan onderzoeken.
- Soms ligt het kindje er niet goed voor om alles te onderzoeken, of beperkt je buikwand het beeld van de echo (bijvoorbeeld door overgewicht). Er wordt dan misschien een herhalingsonderzoek afgesproken.
- Bij bijzonderheden of afwijkingen wordt je doorverwezen naar een universitair ziekenhuis, meestal het Wilhelmina Kinderziekenhuis (WKZ) in Utrecht.
- In het WKZ wordt er een uitgebreidere echo gemaakt en zal de arts vervolgonderzoeken en behandelingen met jullie bespreken.
- De uitslagen worden anoniem, landelijk opgeslagen in de database van Peridos.
- Na de bevalling sturen wij een formulier naar het IRIS Echocentrum, of er nog bijzonderheden met het kindje waren.
- Aanmelden moet centrale hal Ziekenhuis Rivierenland bij de aanmeldzuil met identiteitsbewijs

If you choose for the 20-weeks ultrasound, you'll have your appointment soon. Here is a checklist, to prepare yourself for your appointment, and to improve the quality of the exam.

- The 20-weeks ultrasound can be performed between 19+0 weeks and 20+6 weeks.
- Make sure your bladder is full!
- Don't put bodylotion or oil on your belly. Als remove a bellybutton piercing.
- One adult can accompany you, preferably your partner. Children are not allowed!
- The ultrasound will take 35 minutes.
- It is not allowed to take pictures or video's. You will receive some printed photo's.
- Sometimes a vaginal ultrasound is neccessary to check the baby. Of course you can refuse this, but in that case it might be that the exam is incomplete.
- Sometimes the baby is not in the right position to do all the checks, or your belly might limit the quality of the ultrasound (for example with obesity). A follow up might be scheduled.
- If any abnormalities are seen, you will be referred to an university hospital, for example the Wilhelmina Kinderziekenhuis (WKZ) in Utrecht.
- An advanced ultrasound will be then made in the WKZ, and a doctor will discuss the possibilities for more exams and treatment with you.
- The results will be send anonymously to a national database, Peridos, for statistics.
- After birth we will send a follow up to the IRIS Echocentrum, to let them know if there were any problems with your baby's health.
- In the hospital in Tiel, you'll have to register at the computers in the central hall, before your appointment. Take your ID with you!
- The IRIS Echocentrum is located at route 53 in Ziekenhuis Rivierenland.
